Ducks @ Stanford

After the debacle in Boise, this has turned into a very good season for the Ducks and their fans. Last week’s massacre of the Trojans at Autzen was awesome! A risky game against Stanford today but I’m sure the Ducks will pull it off. Just watched this video from ESPN to get in the mood.

Masoli had a slow start to the season but has come on STRONG as of late. Before last weekend, I’d say he was the most under-rated QB in the country but a week later, he’s become a known commodity around the country. Can’t wait for today’s kick-off. But first it’s time for a run.

Hayhurst Kids’ Triathlon

Trek was the first Eriksson family member to race in a triathlon this season, as a participant in the 8th annual Hayhurst Kids’ Triathlon. He did very well and here’s the video:

Monday Fun

Monday was another beautful day in Oregon, so I decided to take a day’s vacation. After a morning swim, the rest of the family picked up Trek from the bus stop and walked down to Haggen for lunch. Then it was off to the tennis courts, where Trek and I practiced and then played for an hour.

We visited Jennifer and Edgar this morning to see their new baby girl, Daniela. Of course, Trek and Navy were more interested in playing with Sofia. Here’s a little video:

Some Tennis Fun

We enrolled Trek in tennis classes a few weeks ago and as expected he picked it up quickly. The problem with classes at Tualatin Hills is that they are full (especially for tennis) so there is no one-on-one time with the instructors. The number of kids also means there’s a lot of dead time. My goal all along has been to get out and play with him as soon as the weather permits. Watching him practice helps me as well, since I learn from his coach.

Xan and I both feel Tennis is a good activity for Trek, since contact sports are out of the question. We know he has good hand-eye coordination and it will keep him active. We’re not in the business of pushing him into something he doesn’t like, so the focus for now is on fun, but with some instruction to start things off and keep him focused.
