Bike Maps
I have always been a big fan of maps and geography, so Google Maps and Google Earth are two of my favorite application. Couple these with a GPS device (like my Garmin Forerunner 305) and you have a very cool planning tool for triathlon training.
31 km Ride – West of Beaverton
This is one of my standard rides for a quick one-hour workout. It starts out downhill on Murray from my house, which gives me a chance to warm up. With the exception of a short, steep hill early on, this is fairly flat ride with few stops once you get out in the country.
“Sven’s Ride”
This is a ride I mapped out for my buddy, Sven, who was looking for a longer ride. My estimate is that it’s roughly 93 km (58 miles). I’ll revert with a brief review when I hear from Sven. There’s a murderous hill thrown in for fun.
OK, the word is in from Sven. He reports it was 58 miles on the dot (how is that for good estimate?). He’s in good bike shape now, so he made it to the top of Bald Peak.
